BRUSSELS， Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Thursday that Montenegro is on the right track to become NATO's newest member in the very near future at a press conference.
Welcoming Montenegro's Prime Minister Dusko Markovic at NATO headquarters， Stoltenberg praised Montenegro's contributions to NATO's activities and missions.
Stoltenberg said he's looking forward to taking the cooperation to a new level "when Montenegro becomes a full member of the alliance."
"The ratification process of the Accession Protocol is now in the final stages，" he added.
Foreign ministers of NATO member states signed the accession treaty for Montenegro in May last year， marking an important step in Montenegro's path to the alliance.

"The fire broke out this morning at the factory at Amdanga in the state's North 24 Parganas district. Some 20 workers sustained injuries in the incident," a senior police official said.
The injured have been admitted to a local hospital where the condition of some are said to be critical, the official said.
More than 50 workers were in the factory at the time of the fire and they were all rescued by fire firefighters who took nearly two hours to douse the flames.
"Some eight fire tenders were pressed into service and they managed to contain the flames. They are now looking for anyone trapped inside the factory," a fire official said.

ALGIERS， Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Algerian energy minister said on Wednesday the Organization of Petroleum Producing Countries' (OPEC) decision to cut its oil output by 1.2 million barrels per day is likely to push oil prices to around 60 U.S. dollars a barrel by the end of this year.
"The decision taken today in Vienna is historic and great triumph for OPEC，" Noureddine Bouterfa was quoted as saying in Vienna by the Algerian state-owned television.
He said a committee composed of Algeria， Kuwait and Venezuela has been established to control the implementation of the freezing decision.
Bouterfa further predicted that the oil prices would bring stability to the global oil market by the end of the year.
The meeting of OPEC held Wednesday in the Austrian capital reached a consensus decision between the cartel's members to cut oil outputs by 1.2 million barrels per day， setting the ceiling of oil production at 32.5 million barrels per day.
The reduction is effective from Jan. 1， 2017， and is the cartel's first oil reduction since 2008.
